Three Lions United FC
8& under and 9/10& under Academy Teams
It is the mission of Three Lions United Futbol Club to develop and promote premiere youth soccer throughout Northwest Indiana. Furthermore, it is the aim of the Academy to help develop a foundation of values on an off the field to prepare our players to become successful personally and athletically as they grow as individuals and function within a group setting.
Our Academy Program’s primary focus is on Individual Player Development. We offer age group training dedicated to individual skill and tactical development. During competition we primarily play in a non-result oriented league and tournaments which provides players the opportunity to experience all positions to learn the game through the principles of play and not just learn a specific position. Rotating through multiple positions provides players a holistic approach to their development.
We will offer an 8& under 4 vs 4 Competitive Traveling Team. Likely it will combine both boys and girls participating in a North Central/Northwest Indiana League governed by Indiana Youth Soccer Association. We will also field both Boys and Girls Teams for 9/10& under.
We hold evaluations in June for the following year August through May. However, we have a rolling registration which provides anyone at any time the opportunity to request an evaluation for placement during our Calendar year. Evaluations provide you feedback to make an educated decision for participation. We place players in two categories, those ready for team play on a competitive roster, others might not yet be ready, but we will offer training within a pool to develop the basics necessary to join a team on a competitive roster. It is not our intensions to turn players away, but be inclusive at this age. Ages for evaluation for the Fall of 2016 will be; 8& under birth dates: 2010/2011, 9& under birth dates: 2009, 10& under birth dates: 2008.
We are a year round Club. Our Fall Season begins in August through October. Our Winter Training Program begins in January through March. Our Spring Season begins in April through May. The expectations to participate are 2 practices each week during the Fall and Spring Seasons, and 2 Practice per week during the Winter Training Program. Additional practices are optional and players are welcome to attend more than the required 2 practices during the competitive season or the 2 practice required during the Winter Training Program. Traditionally we play on average 8 league matches +/- a game here or there, and participation in 2 tournaments per season. Over the course of the year your Child will participate in at least 50 hours of training, and play between 25 to 30 games.
